Watson's Theory (1979) of Human Caring will guide my philosophy. According to Watson, caring is the essence of nursing, a way of being that calls forth practice that shares knowledge, holds an intentional attentiveness towards self and others to motivate the person, promote wellbeing and provide a friendly environment. President Theodore Roosevelt once said, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. If you are a people person and care about their holistic wellbeing, consider professional nursing.
